# Use the width: content column plus panes

At a comfortable zoom the content uses about half the laptop's width. Let desk pages and the reading room
use the full width: a content column of readable measure, and one or two panes beside it.

Done when: `main.wide` is the default on desk pages and the reading room, with the pane layout of issue side-panels.
