## Side A: riskmandate.ai, from the competition guidance

[UK support, in the open](https://riskmandate.ai/uk-support.md), read on 24 September 2026, says the Sovereign AI R&D Procurement Scheme "buys R&D from UK startups in batches every two months. Its third challenge is set with the National Cyber Security Centre", and quotes the challenge, "Enabling safe AI agent adoption". It gives "Contracts of £250,000 to £10 million", and in its register entry "R&D contracts of £250,000 to £10 million, most expected at £1 million to £3 million." It cites the "Guidance PDF linked from the site, read 24 September 2026."

On whether to apply: "We have not applied yet. Whether to is the lead’s decision, and this row will say what it was."

## Side B: sgit.ai, from the fund's offer page

[A proposed partnership between sgit.ai, RiskMandate.ai and UK Sovereign AI](https://sgit.ai/partnerships/sovereign-ai.md), dated 23 September 2026, describes the same scheme from the fund's "offer beyond investment" page: "contracts run to £5 million over 12 to 24 months", and names "safe AI agent adoption for cybersecurity professionals" as the fourth of four initial challenge areas. Its first proposed piece of work is "A procurement prototype for the safe adoption of agents", under "The R&D procurement scheme, challenge area four."

It links riskmandate.ai's home page, not the UK support page.

## What we checked

- The two sites read different official pages a day apart, so both may be quoting their source correctly. The newsroom has not read the official pages and does not say which figure is right.
- Searched riskmandate.ai's UK support page for "sgit.ai": no link. riskmandate.ai's [brief register](https://riskmandate.ai/briefs.md) records, as not done for this page, "A matching page on sgit.ai. That site is not in this repository; its partnerships section can link here".
