## Five menu entries, the product first, and thirteen pages out of the nav

The menu was the last part of the site still describing what RiskMandate used to be: it opened with
an insurance argument and reached the thing on sale four groups later. It now opens with the thing
on sale. This is [the proposal](admin/briefs/direction__the-menu-and-the-page-list-after-the-abp-turn/)
written yesterday, option A, built as written except where the link counts said otherwise.

**Before:** seven top-level entries, 34 pages in the menu — *Policies (5) · Who it's for (3) ·

**Now:** five, and 21 pages.

**Two entries stopped being called almost the same thing.** *Agent Behaviour Policy* and *Agent
Behaviour Policies* sat four rows apart in one group, and a reader could not tell which was the
explanation and which was the sixteen published examples. They are now **What an ABP is** and **The
sixteen examples**. The group itself is *Behaviour policies* rather than *Policies*, because on this
site *policy* is also the insurance instrument and the
[synthetic-user study](synthetic-users.html) measured two readers taking the bare word for one.

**[The grant is not the mandate](grant-gap.html) moved out of Insurance.** It is the argument the
product is built on, not part of the insurance case, and it was filed under the latter.

**Thirteen pages left the menu and none left the site.** `unlisted` takes a page out of the menu
data and does nothing else: the URL, the markdown twin, the `sitemap.xml` entry and indexability are
untouched, and the sitemap still lists 68 pages. What went, and where each is reached from now: the
six demo pages, from [Live demos](demos.html), which links every one of them; three essays, from a
new section on [the insurance page](insurance.html#reading); the brief register, Working with us,
After payment and the synthetic-user study, from [the console](admin/), which already linked all
four; and [the page written for agents](agents.html), which is carried by `llms.txt` and the
agent-content manifest, where its readers are.

**Two departures from the proposal, both because the counted links said so.** *Give feedback* stays
in the menu: nothing but `404.html` links it, so unlisting it would have orphaned the page that
invites a reader to write to us. And the three essays got their home **before** they lost their menu
row — [*Three pages this argument is built on*](insurance.html#reading) names each one, because two
of the three had no editorial inbound link at all.

Measured after: 1,076px of header content inside the 1,100px cap at every width the desktop menu is
shown, the mobile drawer holding all five groups with no sideways scroll, and no page error on load.
