## UK support, in the open

The product is ready, and the lead's memo of today says the challenge now is users: rooms to
show it in, introductions to the people who would buy it, and the kind of help the UK gives a
startup at exactly this point. The memo asks for that help to be found and written down in
public, the way the partnership pages on sgit.ai are, for three readers: people the lead knows,
asked what is missing; other founders, who can use it; and us, recording what happened at each

- **[UK support, in the open](uk-support.html)** lists 79 programmes, events, schemes and
  networks. Each one was read on its official page on 24 September 2026 and links to it. Each
  row has two chips: what the page said about whether it is open, and what we have done about it.
  Every row says *not started* except Web Summit, because that is the truth today.
- **It says what changed this year.** The Department for Business and Trade was renamed on
  22 July 2026 and AI moved to the Cabinet Office. The travel grant founders remember, the UK
  Tradeshow Programme, was withdrawn in 2023. NCSC for Startups has ended and Cyber Runway is
  closed. Search results still recommend all four, so the closed ones are kept, with the words
  that close them.
- **One finding the memo did not expect.** The Sovereign AI R&D Procurement Scheme's third
  challenge, set with the NCSC, asks for a risk management approach for CISOs "for specific
  agents in specific contexts". It is quoted in full from the competition guidance, with its
  batch dates. We have not applied; that is the lead's decision.
- **Risk and insurance have their own section**, because the buyer of a behaviour policy sits
  in rooms most technology startups never enter: Lloyd's Lab, the Institute of Risk
  Management, Airmic, the FCA's AI Lab.
- **The register is data.** [uk-support.json](uk-support.json) is rendered into the page by a
  script that refuses a row without an official link, and a closure without the phrase that
  says so. CI checks the page matches it. Another founder can copy the file and keep their own
  status column.

What was not done: pages that refused an automated reader, among them the British Business Bank,
london.gov.uk, Black Hat and RSAC, are marked *unclear* rather than filled in from search
results. Nothing was applied for. There is no matching page on sgit.ai, which lives in another
repository and can link here.
